Kristianne Sager (NO) og Johan Sager (SE)
24. November- 31. December
Johan Sager´s (1969) paintings have a conceptual starting point. His motifs are obtained from photo, which are further altered and reduced digitally through specific matrixes. His paintings are made by a method of milling in a layer of spackle. This process gives a tactile and graphic appearance.
At TWT Johan will show two works with reference to the poster for the film “Buddy”. The film was set at Tøyen and the poster decorated the showcases of the subway station in many years until TWT’s inception.
Johan Sager lives and works in Oslo and is educated at The Academy of Fine Arts in Trondheim.

Krisitanne Sager (1977) is educated at The Academy of Fine Arts in Trondheim. She lives and works in Oslo.
Her work can best be described as staged photography, sometimes in combination with sculpture. Her motifs are largely found in “everyday” contexts, where she does small but unexpected interventions. Kristianne´s pictures are not digitally altered. She rather works through the cameras position to the motif, when manipulating the viewer’s perception.
Her photos function as a challenge to the idea of an objective description of reality. She reveals that the camera excludes just as much as it depicts.
Kristianne’s artistic practice is characterized by an intuitive strategy, focusing on an alternative and ambiguous reading of our idea of reality.
